What You'll Be Doing
- Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including lathes and mills, to manufacture, repair, or modify precision components and tooling.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, specifications, approved technical data, and work instructions.
- Plan the sequence of machining operations and select the appropriate equipment, tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and machine settings.
- Take measurements and prepare or position materials for machining operations.
- Adjust machine settings, offsets, and tooling to maintain required dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and surface finish.
- Monitor machining operations to maintain quality, equipment performance, and process requirements.
- Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, tolerances, OEM manual limits and quality requirements.
- Manufacture required tools and fixtures as assigned.
- Maintain tool control and verify calibration status of measuring equipment before use.
- Ensure proper material identification, traceability, and handling throughout the machining process.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve machining discrepancies and nonconformances.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs and report equipment malfunctions or abnormal conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and process reliability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in machining preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of machining/CNC experience in aerospace, aviation, precision manufacturing, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment.
- Experience working with engineering drawings, technical data, tight tolerances, and precision measurement equipment.
- Experience working with aerospace materials preferred.
- Familiarity with FAA Part 145, EASA, AS9100, or similar regulated environments preferred.
- Experience with CNC programming and ERP systems such as Quantum preferred.
Skills
- Ability to set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and approved technical data.
- Knowledge of machining methods, tooling, materials, speeds, feeds, offsets, and precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to manufacture and inspect precision parts within specified tolerances.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in an industrial environment near machinery and rotating equipment.
- Exposure to noise, metal chips/shavings, lubricants, chemicals, and other shop-floor conditions.
- Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
