CNC Machinist / Operator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Vertical Mill Machinist or CNC Machinist/Operator to join our foundry operations team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in manufacturing environments, CNC setup and operation, and blueprint reading. This role supports precision bronze and nickel alloy casting production for the U.S. Navy and industrial customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Vertical Mills
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts to specification
• Select proper feeds and speeds for each operation
• Perform basic troubleshooting and make adjustments as required
• Follow standardized work and safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
• Communicate with team members to ensure quality production and minimal downtime
• Rotate between various department work centers as required
• Ability to program using G&M Code

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of machining equipment and tools
• Ability to operate material handling equipment
• Able to read, write, and count in English
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
