Key Responsibilities
- Machinists are required to setup, program, and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills.
- Ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce precise parts.
- Inspect machined parts using standard measuring equipment to ensure adherence to tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment.
- Plan and coordinate project workflows to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in machining operations, with a good understanding of CNC and manual machining techniques and equipment.
- Experience in programing for CNC machines.
Skills
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school training or apprenticeship.
- Mastercam experience in 3+1 and 4 axis mill programming.
- Mastercam experience in 2 and 2+1 lathe programing.
- Overhead crane experience.
Physical Demands
- Production Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.
- Bend at waist – frequent
- Twist upper body – frequent
- Stoop – occasional
- Lift above waist height – frequent depending on machine center
- Lift over 50 lbs. – frequent depending on machine center
- Repetitive use of hands – constant
- Stand/walk – constant
- Sit – occasional
- Vision – near and far correctable; depth perception
- Hearing – preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery, mobile equipment, emergencies
Work Environment
- Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
