Machinist

About the role

Prysmian is seeking an individual who is looking to join the Maintenance Team as a Machinist in our Machine Shop. In this hands-on role, you’ll help support the equipment, processes, and people who keep our world-class manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and/or fabricate parts from samples
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace
• Operate Manual Machine Shop Equipment, Including:
  • Knee mills
  • Lathes
  • Surface grinders
  • Saws
  • Hoist
  • Drill press
  • Morrison key seater
  • Forklift

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Basic computer skills
• Must provide own tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience with lathes, mills, grinders, metalworking processes, and cutting tools

Preferred: Minimum 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment. Note: This position does not involve CNC equipment.

Physical Requirements

This position involves:

• Repetitive movement
• Frequent walking throughout the facility
• Kneeling, crouching, and stooping
• Use of hands to operate tools, parts, and equipment
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. while bending, twisting, and standing

Pay and Schedule

Starting Pay: $29/hr. Location: 910 Elm St, McKinney, Tx, 75069. Schedule: 5 PM – 3A, Monday – Friday. Availability to work weekends.
