Machinist

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
• Create, interpret, and read prints for fabrication of components.
• Use precision measuring equipment for precision fabrication and machining of components.
• Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, radial drill press, band saws, threading equipment, grinding equipment, and general machine shop equipment.
• Perform pump repair, arc welding, proper rigging, alignment.
• Use mobile cranes, lifts, and hoists.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a 2-year technical program plus experience as a maintenance machinist or equivalent training and experience.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Able to sit, stoop, and bend.
• Able to work around mechanical components safely, troubleshoot in a safe manner, taking all precautions needed to protect yourself and those working with you.
• Able to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
• Able to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
• Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

Pay

• Hourly salary range for position: $32.61 (76% Apprentice) to $57.88
