Machinist
Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and clean work area per 6S standards. Refer unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Know appropriate level of shop math as required. Read and understand blueprints. Know intricate gauging methods, inspect work produced and show a genuine interest in producing quality work. Have most of the tools of the trade. Operate and maintain (2) two machines with high standards of quality and quantity. Operate and maintain ancillary equipment such as, loader(s) (bar loaders), autogage(s), metal cutting machine(s) and wash(s) (rinse, wash, rust inhibit) with high standards of quality and quantity. Hand load and hand pack. Remove, regrind, replace and adjust tools and holders. Take full chip carts to processing area and bring empty chip carts back to machines. Perform minor machine maintenance. (Planned Operator Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance) Recognize problems, correct them and make recommendations on how to prevent them to your supervisor or support engineer. (Machine, Material, Tool) Perform minor machine repairs and adjustments. Have a thorough understanding of speeds, feeds and tooling. Work with engineers and supervisor on layout improvements and changes. Know how to set and adjust standard machine attachments without assistance. Set-up basic jobs within a reasonable length of time without assistance. Set-up advanced jobs within a reasonable length of time with assistance. Maintain proper documentation and communications to ensure efficient coordination between shifts and departments (e.g. quality, engineering, maintenance). Orient when requested by supervisor. Train when mutually agreed. Lead when mutually agreed. Comply with all Quality Management System procedures and work instructions. Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Must be able to read and understand blueprints. Must be able to operate and maintain multiple CNC machines with high standards of quality and quantity. Must be able to perform minor machine maintenance and repairs. Must be able to recognize and correct problems, and make recommendations on how to prevent them. Must be able to work independently with high precision standards.
Skills
