Essential Responsibilities
- Work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise electrical and mechanical tolerances
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
- High School Diploma/GED with a Machining certification from an accredited university with courses that cover: Mathematics, CNC Milling, CNC Lathes, Print Reading, Machine Tooling, G&M code, FANUC controls, and hands on machine application (i.e. capstone, shop hours) and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
- High School Diploma / GED with a Journeyman's card with completion of a Machining apprentice program and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability, with or without accommodation, to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
- Ability and willingness to work occasional weekend shifts
- Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes
- Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test and submit to technical interview
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
Desired
- Strong math skills
- Able to use, read, and understand measuring tools
- Knowledge of common PC tools, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
- Reading comprehension; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
- Able to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions
- Able to work with computerized shop floor tools to include, but not limited to: vouchering systems, on-line quality programs, and payroll management tools
- Able to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Pay and Benefits
- The pay for this position is $37.07 to $41.88 per hour. This position is eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. This position is also eligible for a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus.
