Dover Precision Components (DPC) is a division of Dover Corporation, focusing on pumps and process solutions. DPC offers mission-critical equipment to the oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical, and general processing industries. The company designs and manufactures components to enhance energy efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
- Performs machine set-ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
- Obtains required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedures and performs inspections on work-in-progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
- Selects appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
- Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and ensure conformity with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Utilizes Geometric Dimension & Tolerance as called out on prints and specifications to prevent damage to material and conduct frequent tolerance/quality checks.
- Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes, primarily on Mazak and HAAS equipment.
- Ensures proper machine set-up and accurate interpretation of prints and specifications to prevent damage to material and conduct frequent tolerance/quality checks.
Qualifications
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Ability to read blueprints and plans.
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience.
- Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to perform the job.

Pay and Schedule
- Second shift machinists start at a minimum of $26 per hour (DOE) + $1.50 Shift Differential plus $1.00 raises each 6 months with a Quarterly Performance Bonus of up to $750.
- Must be flexible enough to train on 1st shift 4-6 weeks as needed.
