Job Summary
About the role
The role supports Linde's applications R&D teams in developing prototype technologies at the Linde Technology Center.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with Metals and Combustion Applications Engineers and Technicians to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Plans machining steps necessary for the completion of the job, evaluating the work and providing an estimate of time required.
- Selects and operates appropriate machines, sets up, adjusts, and operates basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining operations.
- Designs and fabricates jigs, tooling, and templates as necessary for complex part machining.
- Maintains inventory of tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
- Performs additional machining tasks such as cutting, heat-treating, polishing, filing, grinding, drilling, etc.
- Manages workload to balance multiple long-lead projects with daily short-term requests.
- Practices safety at all times.
Requirements
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, specialty alloys, ceramics, Teflon, and plastics.
- Programs and uses CNC milling machines and lathes on jobs where manual machines are not suitable.
- Basic machinist training at the college level required.
- Three to five years of machining experience using manual and/or programmable machines.
- Aptitude and desire to learn new skills as needed.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc).
- Average to above-average skill and ability in complex machining functions.
- Manual and CNC machining skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $66,560 to $72,800 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
