The role of Machinist at 3M in Clarkston, Georgia offers opportunities to work with innovative colleagues and utilize computer aided design software to achieve desired grinding results. Responsibilities include using coordinate measuring machines and other measuring tools, managing hazardous waste, participating in safety training, analyzing equipment performance, and communicating with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Implement solutions for obtaining desired grinding results using computer aided design software
• Verify work and adjust using coordinate measuring machine and other measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Manage hazardous waste
• Participate in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position
• Follow all plant safety rules and regulations
• Analyze the performance of equipment and tooling to recommend changes and improvements to equipment and procedures
• Communicate with other departments regarding quality, safety, and equipment issues

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)

Qualifications

• Excellent mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as, understanding and proficiency with geometry, trigonometry, and machining calculations
• Complex reading of drawings and notes

Pay

Starting at $24.82 per hour, with a range of $26.25 per hour. Specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
