Machinist
Job Requirements
- Prepare molds for production, including part number change-overs from assembly drawings, cleaning, assembly, repair, and trouble shooting.
- Inspect and prepare tooling to be installed into mold, requiring proficiency in all shop equipment (excluding wire EDM) and heat treating techniques.
- Disassemble mold tooling for cleaning and repair, including disassembly of mold, cleaning each piece of tooling, inspecting for wear and damage, and reworking or replacing as needed.
- Change over molds, which involves changing out details to alter product part configurations.
- Fits and assembles component parts into mold cavities and verifies dimensions, alignment, and clearance.
- Analyzes and corrects complex mold malfunctions to ensure the mold produces acceptable parts.
- Makes repairs to mold tooling, mold frames, and other mold parts through welding and hand fitting.
- Responsible for daily cleaning of mold and maintaining tooling inventory.
What your background should look like
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A completion of an Accredited Apprenticeship program is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in moldmaking or mold maintenance is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to operate milling machines, surface grinders, and related shop equipment.
- Ability to operate precision measurement devices.
- Knowledge of tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components.
- Understanding of plastics and mold tooling.
- Good communication and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 54 lbs, push a minimum of 77 lbs, and pull a minimum of 66 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, and balancing throughout the day is required in this job.

Compensation
A competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $56,700 – $85,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location).
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits.
