Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam and CAD/CAM software.
- Manufacture precision components while meeting quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
- Design and build specialty fixtures to support machining operations.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of machine shop equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, tumblers, saws, and other supporting equipment.
- Fix machining processes and recommend improvements for quality, efficiency, and tool life.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and support preventative maintenance activities.
- Mentor and train junior machinists to help develop technical capabilities across the team.
- Safely operate multiple machines and manage production priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level machining experience or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Mastercam and CAD/CAM programming.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to use precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection tools.
- Proven ability to independently set up, program, and operate CNC equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and mentor others.
