About the role

This role involves machining key components for BD Medical products, requiring advanced skills in CNC operations, programming, and precision inspection.

At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration, requiring a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to foster creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving in the fast-paced healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate journeyman-level machining skills with advanced Mastercam/CAD/CAM programming.
• Set up and operate various CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Precision Grinders, Screw Machines, Tumblers, Band Saws, Lapping Machines, and Pedestal Grinders.
• Design and fabricate specialty fixtures and perform self-inspection on manufactured parts.
• Handle on-site preventative maintenance and manage all aspects of production demands, including inspection and packaging of BD-unique products.
• Use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, gauges, laser micrometers, and optical comparators for validation and final inspection.
• Train and mentor Machinist 1 and 2 to improve the overall capabilities of the Sandy BD Machine Shop workforce.
• Operate two CNC machines daily, handling programming, part load/unload, inspection, and meeting output expectations.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and program in Mastercam and SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Experience with machining key components for BD Medical products.
• Capability to handle preventative maintenance and production demands, including inspection and packaging.

Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting the machining of components for medical technology products.
• Familiarity with unique machines and precision measurement tools.
• Willingness and ability to train and mentor junior machinists.

Schedule

PR 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (United States of America).
