About the role

This position is for End of Line Electrical Testers. The role includes testing equipment after assembly, troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and using troubleshooting tools such as Volt Meters. You may support all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids and may be required to work off-shift, weekends, and overtime. The operator will work with engineering, managers, and lead techs on maintaining flow to the lines. The role requires working around live low and high voltage, so electrical safety knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Test equipment after assembly and troubleshoot unit issues using schematics and tools such as Volt Meters, Hipot, and Calipers.
  • Support all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids, including off-shift and weekend work, as well as overtime.
  • Work with engineering, managers, and lead techs to maintain flow to the lines.
  • Adhere to electrical safety protocols while working around live low and high voltage.
  • Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects, including service or training at customer sites when needed.
  • Follow company safety policies and promote them to team members and subcontractors.
  • Support the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives.
  • Consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience in basic mechanical maintenance, electronics, wiring schemes, and electrical work.
  • Ability to braze.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics and use tools such as Volt Meters, Hipot, and Calipers.
  • Basic programming skills preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Ability to keep up with high volume in a fast-moving environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills, including understanding of decimals and fractions for measurement.
  • Ability to read and write English for assembly directions, work order packets, and safety instructions.
  • Completion of basic Safety Orientation.
  • Ability to learn more than one station.

Work Environment

This position requires working mainly in a semi-conditioned shop environment and occasionally in a conditioned office environment. The noise level in the shop is usually loud, while the office environment is moderate.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor work, mechanical/equipment rooms, extreme weather conditions, and areas with vibration.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Hourly base pay range: $24.76 - $29.90. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.

This is a Safety Sensitive role, which may require additional drug screening.
