Responsibilities
- Assist machinists with setup, operation, and basic maintenance of machining equipment
- Support production tasks including part handling, measurement, and documentation
- Learn and apply shop safety procedures and best practices
- Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and basic measurement requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Enrollment in (or completion of) the Precision Machining Certification Program at JM Perry Technical Institute
- Strong interest in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical trades
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform applied math calculations (measurements, conversions, tolerances)
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools
- Basic understanding of machining processes or mechanical systems
- Ability to read simple part drawings or blueprints
