MACHINIST 1

About the role

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery in the Finish Turn Department, contributing to the manufacturing of premium firearm components.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machinery according to operator work instructions and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform setup and calibration of tools and machines
• Troubleshoot machine issues affecting part production or quality
• Inspect parts using precision instruments
• Aid in training new machine operators
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Comply with environmental health and safety principles

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T, machine tool programming languages, and blueprint reading
• Ability to interpret machine tool programming languages and recognize machine actions
• Knowledge of metalworking tools and workholding techniques

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in CNC milling or lathe operations (optional but preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and adhere to company values

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The shift is a rotating schedule (Th/Fri/Sat 7pm to 7:30am).
