Machinist 1

About the role

We are seeking a CNC Machinist to support manufacturing and development of measurement equipment for the Semiconductor and Photovoltaic industries. The position will be based in Semilab SDI, Tampa, FL. The Machinist will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor, who will oversee specific tasks and work schedule. Work location is in person.

Responsibilities

• Running machine operations on a vertical mill and/or lathe
• Experience with conversational programming and Acu-Rite controls
• Manual machining background
• Must have own tools
• Deburring, sanding and cleaning of machined parts
• Running the machine shop chop saw, grinder and band saw
• Fixing and creating parts with only verbal instructions
• Ability to learn and work on the fly
• Preparing parts for coating operation
• Basic math and geometry skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Works well with others

Requirements

• Previous machine shop experience
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
• Highly self‑motivated individual with an eagerness to learn the machinist trade and to take initiative in both solo and teamwork environments
• Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑discipline environment
• Strong problem‑solving abilities
• Machining experience: 7‑10 years (required)

Pay

Base salary range: $55,120.00 – $82,680.00 (offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications). Additional rewards: annual bonus opportunities and potential long‑term incentives tied to company and individual success.

Schedule

8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
