About the role
Nutrien is seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, five or more years of experience in an industrial setting, and a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Maintain mechanical rotating, reciprocating, stationary, vessel, bin, or pipe related to facility operations.
- Perform shut down processes, transfers, and tasks due to unsafe conditions.
- Solve problems or troubleshoot operations with other employees.
- Be knowledgeable of safety and environmental hazards.
- Inspect and maintain personal protective equipment and report deficiencies.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Use hand-tools such as end wrenches, impacts, hammers, and screwdrivers.
- Use a variety of tools including sledgehammers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, feeler gauges, hydraulic rams, and precise measuring equipment.
- Understand and use oxygen/acetylene hand welding equipment.
- Perform routine replacement of gears, bearings, motors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in an industrial setting or a technical school certificate in a related field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Testing Requirements
- All hourly applicants must complete the Florida Ready to Work or National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) assessment.
- A minimum score of 3 in Math, 3 in Reading, and 3 in Data is required to be considered eligible for employment.
- Applicants must also complete the Florida Ready to Work Soft Skills Assessment and achieve a “Passed” status.
- Both certificates (Florida Ready to Work or NCRC and Soft Skills) must be uploaded along with your resume when submitting your application.
