About the role
Reporting to the Machining Team Lead, the Machining Team Member is responsible for the preparation and machining of engine blocks and heads in conformance with engineering drawings, standardized work instructions, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines to ensure precision machining operations
- Monitor and verify finished parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards per the Control Plan
- Ensure standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling
- Perform general machine maintenance per Daily Maintenance Checklists
- Lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production; learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds
- Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic devices, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly
- All other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams
- National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) or equivalent certification; may substitute with direct applicable work experience that built competencies and subject matter expertise
- Demonstrated proficiency in CNC Machining, automotive assembly, and/or high-volume manufacturing; may substitute with direct applicable work experience that built competencies and subject matter expertise
- Working knowledge of Metric and English measurement systems with the ability to perform conversions
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, attribute/variable gages, and hand tools
- Experience using or knowledge of Lean manufacturing preferred

Pay
$22.00 per hour plus overtime.
