About the role
Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance with over a century of expertise, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinery Specialist to join its team. This full-time role is open to candidates based in Virginia (VA) and Maryland (MD).
Responsibilities
- Conducting boiler and pressure vessel inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of clients' machinery and equipment.
- Risk Assessment capability is a plus.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.
- Interacting effectively with clients at all levels, providing clear and concise reports and recommendations.
- Performing internal boiler examinations, requiring physical capability and attention to detail.
- Managing a multi-state territory and working independently.
Requirements
- A valid VA, MD, or DE driver's license.
- An NB commission with "IS" endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
- Experience in conducting jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels in VA, MD, and DE is a plus.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a multi-state territory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
