Machinery Specialist

About the role

Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance with over a century of expertise, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinery Specialist to join its team. This full-time role is open to candidates based in Virginia (VA) and Maryland (MD).

Responsibilities

• Conducting boiler and pressure vessel inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of clients' machinery and equipment.
• Risk Assessment capability is a plus.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.
• Interacting effectively with clients at all levels, providing clear and concise reports and recommendations.
• Performing internal boiler examinations, requiring physical capability and attention to detail.
• Managing a multi-state territory and working independently.

Requirements

• A valid VA, MD, or DE driver's license.
• An NB commission with "IS" endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
• Experience in conducting jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels in VA, MD, and DE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work independently and manage a multi-state territory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills.

Skills

• Knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
