Machine Technician I (Operator) - Danville

About the role

The Machine Technician I operates a minimum of one production machine in an area or department and performs basic preventative machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and lead key machinery, striving for efficient output of quality products.
• Set up, operate and adjust machinery.
• Perform changeovers and washes that meet or exceed specifications.
• May be responsible for breaking co‑workers.
• Adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to supervisor.
• Ensure products produced meet customer and quality requirements.
• Perform basic maintenance, controls, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean work area and participate in housekeeping throughout the facility and grounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED strongly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined preferred.
• Fully trained and experienced in the operation of one production machine as defined at each plant and/or equivalent work experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to express ideas professionally, effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi‑task, focus and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to frequently work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts and meet attendance requirements.
