Machine Technician

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining the highest standard of safety and order in all areas of the Lining Department. This job requires frequent interactions with other employees. Must be able to work well with other employees. Candidate must be self-motivated and prepared to take initiative. Maintain machines and equipment needed for production.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times including proper LOTO of machines and use of proper PPE
• Promote 5S maintenance and improvements
• Be a positive role model to the team
• Maintain machines and associate equipment in optimum condition
• Make necessary and/or routine machine adjustments and repair equipment in an effort to provide continuous production
• Know how to operate all machines and equipment in order to understand their function and repair them
• Know and identify all different styles of caps, jars and their codes (i.e. S, RS, RM, RMX)
• Make tooling changes (size) within a reasonable amount of time
• Be results oriented using visual KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
• Be multi-skilled to support team members as needed
• Develop and follow the standardized work instructions to minimize machine downtime
• Seek out assistance from department manager/team leaders as required
• Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts
• Be a good listener and understand issues before coming up with solutions (root cause analysis)
• Willing and able to support and help production of products when business needs dictate

Schedule

Position requires mandatory overtime as directed by department needs.
