Machine Tech (P2A - GA2, 2nd shift)

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications (must meet all to be considered):

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Current Lead Associate II (L2) or equivalent experience, including:
  • Efficient machine operation
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Understanding production ratios
  • Applying LOTO, 3S, and 5S in daily activities
  • Deep understanding of product quality and documentation
  • Experience in Kaizen and Practical Problem Solving
• Successfully completed both portions of the Machine Technician Assessment
• Able to read and interpret manuals and perform basic math with a calculator
• Able to read, compute, interpret, construct, and maintain charts, records, log books, and graphs
• Demonstrate proper use of basic hand tools and measurement devices
• Basic computer skills
• General knowledge of machine repair, safety procedures, and DMMI policies and standards, including:
  • HR Policy and Procedures manual
  • TS16949
  • ISO14000

Posting eligibility requirements:

• More than 2 years in current position unless promotable
• Last Performance Appraisal rated as Meets or Better
• No active written discipline
• Able to perform the essential functions of the position

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment by TPM standards, schedule monthly TPM activities
• Identify abnormal machine problems and determine root causes
• Verify product quality and identify machine quality issues
• Adjust machines to correct issues using root cause analysis
• Assist with production needs as necessary
• Communicate with support areas and lead/direct associates during TPM activities
• Track, plot, and implement countermeasures for downtime trends
• Train associates on complex and robotic machines
• Repair minor items
• Safely operate and maintain machines by mass production criteria (quality, cost, delivery)
• Stabilize machines’ working parameters
