Machine Tech (DMMI P2A - GA3, 2nd Shift)

About the Role

Machine Technician position on the GSR Line 3 Braze / Core Assembly (GA3) within Dept. 393 Core. This role operates on the afternoon shift with core hours from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment by TPM standards, schedule monthly TPM activities, and identify abnormal machine problems.
• Perform root cause analysis to resolve machine issues and verify product quality.
• Identify and adjust machines to correct quality problems using root cause analysis.
• Assist with production needs as necessary and communicate with support areas.
• Lead and direct associates during TPM activities, track and plot downtime trends, and implement countermeasures.
• Train associates on complex and robotic machines.
• Repair minor items and safely operate and maintain machines by mass production criteria (quality, cost, delivery).
• Stabilize machines’ working parameters.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be a current Lead Associate II (L2) or have equivalent experience, including efficient machine operation, preventative maintenance, understanding production ratios, applying LOTO, 3S and 5S, deep understanding of product quality and documentation, and experience in Kaizen and Practical Problem Solving.
• Must have successfully completed both portions of the Machine Technician Assessment.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and perform basic math with a calculator.
• Ability to read, compute, interpret, construct, and maintain charts, records, log books, and graphs.
• Demonstrated proper use of basic hand tools and measurement devices.
• Basic computer skills.
• General knowledge of machine repair, safety procedures, and DMMI policies and standards, including HR Policy and Procedures manual, TS16949, and ISO14000.
• More than 2 years in current position unless promotable.
• Last Performance Appraisal rated as Meets or Better.
• No active written discipline.
• Must be able to pass DENSO Job Specific Communication Assessment.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
