Machine Shop Technician, 3rd Shift

About the role

This position is responsible for tasks such as troubleshooting dies, cleaning and maintaining dies and equipment, die repair and change overs, housekeeping, metal fabrication. Note: This position is for 3rd Shift. Hours for this role are 10 PM - 6:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all equipment is operating properly and safely.
• Perform periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the department as assigned and according to schedule.
• Perform inspections of coolant systems, scrap hoppers, trash cans. Empty or fill as needed.
• Daily tasks may include machine and die cleaning, machining and metal fabrication.
• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot various dies and tooling issues in the shop and on the production floor.
• Complete repair orders and parts usage records.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Keep supervisor informed of problems and equipment that is not operating properly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
• Follows all Company guidelines as stated in the Associate Handbook and Safety Manual.
• Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some Technical or Trade school preferred.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• 1-2 years of working in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably working with industrial machinery.
• Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Able to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.

Qualifications

Pay

Pay range: $27.99 USD to $29.81 USD per hour.
