About the Role
As a member of our team at Parker Aerospace, you will operate one or more production machines, working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets in a guided team environment. This role is essential in developing innovative technologies and products that contribute to Parker’s mission of addressing the world’s most pressing engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive machine operations, including reworking parts such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming, and smoothing parts.
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
- Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, cracks, or other irregularities from machined parts.
- Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using visual examination, gauges, or other measuring instruments.
- Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Read analog/digital MICS, COMPAIRTORS, and PROFILOMETER.
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Manual machining experience required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of general or related machine shop experience, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
- Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
- Strong lathe background preferred.
