Machine Shop Technician - 1st shift

About the Role

As a member of our team at Parker Aerospace, you will operate one or more production machines, working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets in a guided team environment. This role is essential in developing innovative technologies and products that contribute to Parker’s mission of addressing the world’s most pressing engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repetitive machine operations, including reworking parts such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming, and smoothing parts.
  • Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
  • Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, cracks, or other irregularities from machined parts.
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using visual examination, gauges, or other measuring instruments.
  • Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Read analog/digital MICS, COMPAIRTORS, and PROFILOMETER.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manual machining experience required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of general or related machine shop experience, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Strong lathe background preferred.
