Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance checks on lathes, Landis machines, and other machine shop equipment.
- Monitor and maintain proper oil levels, lubrication systems, and machine operating conditions.
- Conduct pressure testing on pipe measuring 24 inches and larger.
- Inspect lifting straps, rigging equipment, and other shop safety devices to ensure safe operation.
- Remove metal shavings and debris from machines and surrounding work areas.
- Assist with general housekeeping and organization of the ductile iron shop to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Support machine operators by preparing equipment and maintaining shop readiness.
- Operate lathe and Landis machines during periods of downtime or when production support is needed.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to management.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Clean and maintain the Ductile Shop area, ensuring the work area is kept clean, organized, and free of unnecessary debris or materials.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and inspections.
- Commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials as required.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience operating lathes, Landis machines, or similar industrial equipment.
- Experience performing pressure testing or hydrostatic testing.
- Previous experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Pay
$18.00-$19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
