This position oversees industrial machine repair and stamping press repair projects across the region, ideal for an experienced maintenance professional, machine repair technician, millwright, lead foreman, maintenance supervisor, or project manager looking to advance into a leadership role with an established industrial contractor.

About the role

This is a permanent, office-based position located in Walker, MI, within a collaborative team environment. The role involves occasional travel to project sites (1–2 times per month) to support field teams and monitor project progress. A company vehicle and company credit card are provided for travel and project-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage machine repair and industrial maintenance projects from initial planning through final completion.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams ranging from 10 to 30 employees to deliver high-quality results.
  • Schedule labor, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, estimating teams, customers, and field personnel to align project goals and expectations.
  • Conduct occasional site visits (approximately 1–2 times per month) to monitor project progress and support field teams.
  • Assist in developing project estimates and customer proposals, including scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain and track project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects remain on time and within scope.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and industry standards throughout project execution.
  • Uphold quality standards for machine repair, stamping press work, and industrial maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project efficiency and field performance.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment to share knowledge and support the development of less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of stamping press repair experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Hands-on machine repair and industrial maintenance experience with industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, stamping, automotive, or industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage field teams ranging from 10 to 30 employees.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively coordinate with operations, estimating, customers, and field personnel.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, with ability to pass an MVR (motor vehicle record) check.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Comfort working with stamping presses, machine setup, and industrial maintenance operations.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Project Manager or Maintenance Manager in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Estimating or bidding experience for industrial maintenance or machine repair projects.
  • Millwright background with strong machine repair expertise.
  • Experience as a Lead Foreman, lead maintenance professional, or Senior Maintenance Technician.
  • Experience maintaining equipment within automotive stamping facilities.
  • Familiarity with major automotive and Tier 1 manufacturing environments (e.g., Ford, GM, Stellantis, Dana, Nexteer, or similar).
  • Interest in transitioning from a hands-on maintenance role into a project management position.
  • Motivation to grow into long-term career opportunities within operations and project management.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $115,000 – $130,000 per year. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
