Machine Programing Lead

About the role

The Machine Programing Lead is responsible for leading a team of programmers responsible for program development, design interpretation, machine set ups, trouble shooting and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the work of assigned team employees
  • Adds addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
  • Aids in the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
  • Aids team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
  • Inspects work performed by team members
  • Partners with supervisor or production manager to resolve any issues that arise within department
  • Create and edit CNC programs for machining parts and components using AP100 and VPSSRi systems
  • Interpret design specifications, blueprints, and CAD models to develop CNC programs
  • Set up and test CNC machines to ensure accurate and efficient production
  • Identify and resolve programming and machining issues
  • Ensure machined parts meet quality and precision standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience as a CNC programmer or machinist with AP100 and VPSSRi systems
  • Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software, with experience in AP100 and VPSSRi systems
  • Certifications in CNC programming or machining
  • Familiarity with specific CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with design teams and production staff

Qualifications
