About the role
The Machine Programing Lead is responsible for leading a team of programmers responsible for program development, design interpretation, machine set ups, trouble shooting and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the work of assigned team employees
- Adds addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
- Aids in the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
- Aids team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
- Inspects work performed by team members
- Partners with supervisor or production manager to resolve any issues that arise within department
- Create and edit CNC programs for machining parts and components using AP100 and VPSSRi systems
- Interpret design specifications, blueprints, and CAD models to develop CNC programs
- Set up and test CNC machines to ensure accurate and efficient production
- Identify and resolve programming and machining issues
- Ensure machined parts meet quality and precision standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years experience as a CNC programmer or machinist with AP100 and VPSSRi systems
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software, with experience in AP100 and VPSSRi systems
- Certifications in CNC programming or machining
- Familiarity with specific CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with design teams and production staff
