Machine Operators 1st & 3rd Shifts

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you will be an important part of the Steel Technologies team, playing a critical role in meeting customer demands. You will operate and program equipment, maintain machine controls, and ensure production runs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate controls on the machine to ensure compliance with production instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation of machine settings and work orders
• Use banding equipment to package material according to customer specifications
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures
• Maintain production standards using tape measures and micrometers to measure and check steel dimensions
• Make and inspect arbor and overarm set-ups to ensure compliance with production instructions
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials within assigned areas
• Retrieve steel samples for the lab, review against work orders, and communicate non-compliance to supervisors
• Clean machines and surrounding areas

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Knowledge of and ability to operate equipment programmers
• Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality standards
• Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell testers, micrometers, and calipers
• Physical ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
