Machine Operator – Tenter Frame / Textile Manufacturing
Position Overview
The Tenter Operator position is a non-exempt, hourly position responsible for operating the Monforts Tenter Frame to heat-set fabric, assist with sewing, crane operation, and slitters. You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and safety while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
What you'll do
- Operate the tenter frame and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
- Load fabric using a crane and monitor machine settings for optimal results.
- Remove completed rolls, maintain logs, and report issues from previous shifts.
- Perform weekly machine disassembly and cleaning, and maintain housekeeping throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Aid the Production Team Manager with additional tasks as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Who you are
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- A company-issued forklift license required.
- Experience operating heavy machinery or fabric-processing equipment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 1,000 lbs with a pallet jack.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching frequently.
- Able to follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills for machine monitoring and logging.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Reliable and punctual, with flexibility for rotating shifts and overtime.
