Machine Operator - Specialist III- Laser - 3rd

About the role

The Lincolnton, NC Conversion, Customizing and Packaging Center is seeking a Machine Operator - Specialist III-Laser to support the startup and implementation of a new production line. This position will involve extended overseas travel for training.

Responsibilities

• Support the startup and implementation of the laser operation of a new production line in the existing Lincolnton, NC facility.
• During startup, learn firsthand the process and support the development of local work instructions and standards.
• Actively communicate with related departments such as Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.
• Train and monitor new production associates working on the specified shift and provide timely and effective feedback when required.
• Responsible for loading/unloading, operating, adjusting, changing-over, maintaining multiple machines, conducting 5S, and aiding in trouble-shooting.
• Responsible for reaching daily targets and escalating in case of deviations.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED, with a Technical or Vocational Schooling a plus.
• 3 to 5 years of previous experience in laser/robotics processes (or similar).
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication skills - spoken, written, and interpersonal.
• Ability to learn and understand new processes, machines, and technology.
• Flexibility to work in different shifts, overtime.
• Ability to stand and be mobile for 8 hours.
• Proper hand dexterity.
• Ability to read and prepare orders.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Math skills appropriate to a machining environment.
• Ability to read product prints and check products to match.
• Proficiency in the use of measuring devices.
• Setup machine using basic hand tools and measuring devices.
• Identify and assess common problems with machines, trouble-shoot.
• Read and follow standard operating procedures.
• Understand and follow procedures pertaining to machine cleanliness and tool organization.
