Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate a range of automatic or semiautomatic machines.
- Work with raw materials.
- Identify and retrieve items specified in job documentation, conduct weigh outs and maintain accurate inventory logs.
- Evaluate and verify that production items are within tolerances and meet specifications as outlined in job documentation.
- Conduct minor preventative maintenance, adjustments and repairs.
- Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow and suggest improvements to powder handling procedures to minimize the generation of dust, routinely clean work areas and participate in 6S initiatives.
- Use a range of documents to perform work, such as job routers, quality documents and work instructions.
- Must meet and maintain daily production targets (once fully trained).
- Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
- May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience/Background: 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Skills
- Machine and mechanical aptitude
- Use of micrometers, calipers, scales
- General computer skills
Education
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment.
- Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.
- May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
