Job Purpose and Description
The machine operator is responsible for performing various tasks to setup, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
Main Responsibilities
- Executing standard operating procedures related to the inspection of product and materials.
- Monitor machine operations to ensures products manufactured meet industry and federal standards.
- Responsible for managing line performance. Serves as point of contact for line on shift.
- Responsible for SAP transactions.
- Give work direction to Operators on the line.
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
- Advanced preventive maintenance capabilities.
- Performs minor maintenance.
- Responsible for training and serves as a mentor to Operators.
- Complete quality paperwork for product inspections and entry into QIS system.
- Ensure the machine is operating according to capability.
- Knowledge of production procedures and specifications.
- Perform periodic checks on the equipment and solve problems as detected.
- Work with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
- Perform advanced changeover duities.
- Observe and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
- Trains others and serves as a resources to Operators.
Team Work and Communication
- Work with the quality team to ensure the finished product meets quality standards.
- Communicate with the maintenance department to ensure the machine is operating at standard and to address any mechanical issues affecting the finished product.

Working Safely (i.e., not cutting corners or taking risky short cuts; being alert to an unsafe situation; being thoroughly knowledgeable about safety guidelines and equipment; being thoroughly trained with lock-out procedures).
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Being able to recognize a problem and find the root cause through a logical repeatable process; being able to quickly think through a problem and come to a solution; Being able to check things out systematically to find out what the problem is and why it has occurred.
- Technical Reading and Using Resources: Being able to read and understand technical materials, such as training manuals and vendor instructions; Using materials to collect information necessary to troubleshoot and solve a problem.
Physical Requirements
- The ability and willingness to perform light to moderate lifting of raw materials and machine components up to 55 lbs.
- The ability and willingness to stand 100% of time and walk in the production facility.
- Adequate hand and finger coordination to manipulate small parts.
- Adequate vision and color perception.
- Minor stooping, bending, sitting, reaching and crouching as needed to inspect finished product and materials.
Educational Requirement
- The machine operator must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- The machine operator must have one years related experience.
- The Machine operator must have mechanical and computer skills.
- They must be technically-inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery.

- Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
