Responsibilities
- Set up machines prior to shift start-up, attend to the operation of these machines, and adjust as necessary for changes due to production type.
- Attend to and adjust machines during operation to ensure product flow through the machines.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and assist other plant personnel in various areas of the plant as needed.
- Assist maintenance in repairs and overhauls.
- 90% - Attend to the operation of machines and equipment (e.g. leg processors, wrappers, CFS, PACMAC, STORK lines and DAYPAC ) making required changes, adjustments and notifications as needed.
- 10% - additional functions to include assisting in other areas of the plant as required.
- Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and disease control requirements while performing job duties.
- Help maintain and improve quality and food safety to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical aptitude, understanding, and ability to use mechanical type tools, such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a wet and cool environment with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated history of dependability, particularly with regard to safety and attendance.
- Physically capable to perform job duties including, but not limited to lifting film rolls and containers weighting 50-80 lbs.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time (8-12 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor.
- Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, hand motion, and twisting.
- Willing and able to work various shifts, overtime, non-standard work hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay rate is $21.45 per hour, with an Attendance Premium of $0.25 and Shift Premiums of $.50 and $1.00 for hours worked during swing and night shifts. A longevity premium of $0.25 is added after one year of service.
