Machine Operator - Night Shift

About the Role

The Machine Operator receives instructions from the Operations Manager or the Team Lead regarding daily assignments and expectations. They will be trained on the machine or machines in the manufacturing area and must follow posted processes and procedures as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Operates cutting machines, threading machines, headers, benders, and a variety of other manufacturing equipment
• Ensures assignments are completed on time
• Performs quality checkpoints on each machine as posted
• Maintains safety and housekeeping standards in their work area
• Completes paperwork according to manager's instructions
• Uses forklifts to load and carry materials

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
• Forklift Certification (preferred)
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment and successful completion of a forklift training program
• Ability to identify parts to be processed on their machine
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and mathematical skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environments
• Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 6+ hours per shift
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
• Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
