Machine Operator - Night Shift

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Night Shift Dry Packaging Machine Operator to join our team at Tuffy’s Pet Foods. This role operates and maintains packaging lines to ensure quality, efficiency, sanitation, and safety.

Essential Duties

• Communicate with Supervisor/Foreman on all production concerns
• Communicate with Extruder Operators on product times and bin space
• Start and set up all required equipment for production
• Control packaging materials, code dates, expiration dates, stickers, and any items unique to product specs
• Control product quality, packaging quality, contamination, weight controls, and line efficiency
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and assist maintenance personnel
• Perform all equipment adjustments and change overs and troubleshoot equipment when problems occur
• Complete daily reports in legible manner, special projects as assigned
• Absorb and assist in controlling packaging from warehouse, assist in supervising all line workers required on line
• Absorb and assist in performing all other duties assigned, assist training of all line workers
• Absorb and assist in coordinating all record keeping and charting to include cleaning schedule, packaging yields, and efficiency
• Absorb and assist in controlling packaging area

Qualifications

• General mathematical ability and basic computer skills
• Must not be afraid of heights, able to climb 150 feet
• Must be able to meet physical requirements necessary for this position
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
• Must be able to work in a loud and at times dusty and hot environment
• Must be willing to work hours and shifts as required by the supervisor
• Must be able to meet all other requirements as outlined in the job description
