Responsibilities
- Prepares and operates manufacturing equipment such as lathes and PEGs according to established procedures.
- Cleans and adjusts the equipment.
- Operates general manufacturing equipment such as cutting lathes, microscopes, comparators, optical benches, among others, when necessary.
- Configures orders on the production line for Acrylic machine operators.
- Operates and uses all measurement devices to produce IOL in the lens generation area.
- Capable of performing mathematical calculations to configure and operate the machine or process.
- Carries out necessary tests to execute the process and equipment.
- Manages, uses, and correctly disposes of materials and supplies in the area, including liquid and solid waste from the PEG molding area, according to environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Washes PEG fixation plates used in the washing and cleaning process of the machine, ensuring a continuous flow.
- Documents, prints, and analyzes all required production order, PEG sheet, ellipsometers, and plasma and pressure graphs information.
- Performs line cleaning between PEG batches, following good manufacturing practices and established procedures.
- Maintains the workspace organized and clean.
- Performs preventive maintenance on the equipment.
- Verifies the functionality of the equipment, avoiding deviations in the process.
- Replaces cylinders of the PEG, SiCl4, and H2O equipment.
- Lavages and cleans the equipment used.
Requirements
- Tech degree in electronics, electricity, refrigeration, mechanics, or a related technical field, with one (1) year of general experience.
- One (1) year of general experience is required with a J&J Vision Cell Operator certification.
- Prior Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience as a Manufacturing Operator or similar position preferred.
- Experience in configuring and adjusting machine/equipment parameters: lathes, microscopes, comparators, optical benches, and interferometers.
- Availability to work overtime, various shifts including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and/or 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
