About the role
The Machine Operator III is responsible for day-to-day card, printer, and/or reader programming, light maintenance of machinery and equipment, and serving as the main support between production and support areas.
Responsibilities
- Act as the point of contact in between production and support areas to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Set up and operate a variety of automatic and semi-automatic machines.
- Work collaboratively with peers and internal customers.
- Verify BOMs, program requirements, product types, artwork, and markings.
- Conduct manual production operations as required.
- Proactively log and escalate potential issues to minimize safety, quality, delivery issues, and operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure all Machine Operators have the right material and paperwork for their job.
- Ensure the Order Management process is executed correctly to achieve daily delivery/efficiency.
- Comply with SOPs and work instructions related to job function.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform daily 5S and PM of equipment and surrounding areas as required.
- Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement by identifying and communicating opportunities to improve performance.
- Participate in root cause, corrective/preventive action activities as required.
- Understand and define shift hours based on demand.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Able to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
- Ability to work at a fast pace with very high attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required (including weekends).
- Ability to learn, use, and maintain specialized equipment.
- Accepts and embraces constant change as a necessary factor to success.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows.
- Familiarity with navigating Excel.
