Machine Operator II, Glass

About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking a Machine Operator II to join our team. This position is located at P2 - Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate assemblies / parts for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
• Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies.
• Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
• Selects set-up changes for production via PLC software.
• Checks Quality of product produced initially and throughout the day as required.
• Intermediate troubleshooting of equipment functions via PLC alarms.
• Supports staff handling and offloading glass as needed.
• Maintains the equipment through daily, weekly, and as needed preventive maintenance.
• Supports the glass assembly line by operating in different areas within or off the line as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1+ years of production machine operator experience.
• Experience working in Glass manufacturing environment.
• Basic reading/writing skills.
• Basic PC skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.
• Basic diagrams and specs sheet print reading.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of 6S.
• Ability to read and understand all job specifications.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Team oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
