Machine Operator II (Delta Rotary) - $23 - $25 Depending on Experience

About the Role

As a Machine Operator II, you will manage all facets of your assigned workstation to produce jobs with the highest degree of quality and timeliness. This role involves setting up jobs and machines, serving as the core operator throughout the production lifecycle, and ensuring operational proficiency on multiple machines. You must adapt to changing workload demands by moving between production lines while maintaining a commitment to quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement. Strong mechanical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to proactively resolve machine repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations, implementing 5S methodology and other manufacturing principles.
• Thoroughly understands machines, standards, and general manufacturing practices to run an efficient production cycle in accordance with instructions and job specifications.
• Reviews work orders/production schedules to determine specifications and ensure proper setup sequences, such as materials, cutting lines, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Tests and adjusts machine controls to regulate speeds and actions.
• Installs, aligns, and locks specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in machines using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
• Monitors machine operation during production runs and records operational data.
• Measures completed and in-process workpieces to verify conformance to established standards or specifications using calipers, micrometers, templates, or rulers.
• Performs quality checks on all completed workpieces to ensure they meet the highest quality standards; examines for defects and makes corrections as necessary (e.g., damaged edges or disfigured surfaces).
• Proactively performs machine maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, and lubrication as required.
• Maintains acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
• 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment (required).
• Demonstrated experience with rotary or flat-bed presses, slitters, or rewinders (required).
• Third-party production and/or quality certifications (preferred).
• English language capabilities (verbal, written, and computer) (required).

• Thorough understanding of power, mechanics, and other properties of machines.
• Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
• Ability to follow written instructions and diagrams to complete work accurately.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong math skills, including fractions, percentages, and precise measurement.

Physical Requirements

• Operates in a manufacturing environment using standard manufacturing and office equipment (e.g., computers, phones).
• Repetitive use of hands and dexterity to handle and control manufacturing tools/controls.
• Standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools for prolonged periods.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and near loud equipment.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Close and distant vision, accurate color perception, and peripheral vision are critical.
