Schedule

Monday through Friday with overtime and weekend availability.

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Responsibilities

  • Operate mixing machine to combine ingredients per designated formula and instructions.
  • Place raw ingredients into mixer and final product into troughs.
  • Visually identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality before and after mixing; remove unacceptable product.
  • Perform housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, scraping floors, disposing of trash, and picking up product from the floor.
  • Record ingredient usage, log numbers, dough times, temperatures, ingredient usage, and trough numbers accurately.
  • Place product or scrap into designated color-coded containers.
  • Accurately use measuring equipment to weigh and measure ingredients.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
  • Verbally communicate instructions, problems, and updates to co-workers, supervisors, and employees from all departments.
  • Clean inside and outside of mixer and utensils per established procedures.
  • Check production schedule to determine which dough is scheduled to run.
  • Select the correct mix sheet and ingredients for the scheduled dough; visually inspect ingredients for defects.
  • Accurately weigh dough ingredients and verify the accuracy of scales, meters, and thermometers.
  • Record all lot numbers before mixing dough; ensure all lot numbers are on the mix sheet at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain correct dough or filling temperature.
  • Communicate all mix sheet changes to the next shift as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if dough or filling is inconsistent with previous batches.
  • Keep track of thermometer, scraper, and measuring cup at all times.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Meet company attendance standards for start and end times.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other assigned functions as needed.

Requirements

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Remove dough or filling from mixers using a hoe.
  • Reach with hands and arms throughout the shift.
  • Use hands and fingers for various tasks.
  • See, hear, and talk effectively.
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
  • Walk up to 400 yards to work areas.
  • Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions and problems.
  • Work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed.
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Stand for eight hours per shift.
  • Perform repetitive reaching overhead, under, and across throughout the shift.
  • Push or pull items up to 2,600 lbs with assistance.
  • Crawl under equipment to reach work areas as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Climb steps to and from work and break areas.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment in close proximity to others.
  • Distinguish colors accurately.
  • Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in various units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Work in variable temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Perform repetitive bending, stooping, and twisting throughout the shift.
  • Work in wet and humid areas.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
  • Work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
  • Work in high, precarious places and/or in outside weather conditions as required.
  • Receptive to new ideas, concepts, and procedures.
  • Responsive to constructive criticism.

Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and at times independently.
  • Ability to measure and read scales and thermometers; understands units of measurement.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
