About the role
The machine operator is responsible for unloading, loading, pulling orders, and the movement and sorting of cotton bales, to and from storage locations. General plant maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in the repairs of the fire protection systems as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform all operations in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Safely operate industrial lift trucks.
- Unload, stack, and locate bales into inventory.
- Breakout (order picking).
- Sort and prepare bales per shipping orders.
- Repair damaged bales.
- Load bales from the staging areas onto outbound freight.
- Maintain and fill out a daily lift truck checklist before every shift.
- Use handheld devices.
- Assist in routine building and grounds maintenance.
- Assist Fire Prevention and Maintenance personnel in required regulatory testing and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to effectively utilize cell phones, email, tablets, and computers.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one.
- All other certifications will be provided through PCCA-Warehouse as deemed necessary by management.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information, communicate and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Physical requirements include full finger, hand, arm, foot, and leg dexterity to operate industrial lift trucks, and the ability to lift, carry, or move a minimum of 50 pounds for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Pay
- Salary range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Schedule
- Shifts: Monday through Friday, rotating shifts.
- Hours: Variable, based on production needs.
