About the role
Join the Hi Roller team as a Machine Operator and help build top-quality grain conveyors from scratch. You’ll be responsible for the daily setup and production of a variety of fabrication machinery to include press brakes, saws, routers, angle master, and folder. The Team Our large production team consists of welders, assemblers, metal fabricators, powder coaters, and more. As a Machine Operator you will collaborate with your Production Supervisor and peers to fabricate parts to build custom grain conveyors for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Follow company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations such as wearing required PPE, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and gloves.
- Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific machining requirements.
- Set up and operate various machines for routine established work.
- Load, install and correctly setup the tooling required for each job.
- Perform routine quality checks according to print specifications and make necessary adjustments when needed.
- Perform daily and periodic maintenance on equipment used in the department.
- Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work (as required).
- Ensure that all paperwork is correctly filled out and included with components when passed onto the next operation.
- Cross train as directed and be willing to work at any production or shipping position in the plant.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year of related experience and/or training in manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication.
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 55 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to read and use tape measures.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations, to supervisors and to co-workers of the organization.
