Machine Operator I (3RD SHIFT)

You'll operate various machines including conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines, ensuring production requirements are met while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Operates assigned machines such as resistance welding, brake presses, and mechanical power presses.
• Operates saws, drills, and grinders.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Packs finished materials into dunnage and loads/unloads finished workpieces.
• Checks that the finished workpiece conforms to specifications.
• Completes documentation correctly for process monitors and production tickets.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and fix issues that may occur during the shift.

Requirements

• Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction.
• Sets deviations from the norm with supervisor's approval.
• Exercises limited latitude/independent judgment under close supervision.
• Performs detailed checks or reviews of output with a senior coworker or supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
• Preferred: 1+ year of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience handling rigid insulation or similar materials.
• Ability to read and interpret basic measurements and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Capable of standing, lifting, and moving materials (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
