Machine Operator I ( 12hr. shifts, 545am-6pm) $18.50/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to Production Tech during order processing, changes, and setup.
• Bags, boxes, or palletizes finished products.
• Performs quality inspections and tests.
• Positions sheet rolls on unwind stands and initiates sheet flow through formers and trim presses.
• Aids in the production and operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Prepares production logs, product tags, and time cards as needed.
• Operates scrap grinders as required and understands the recycle system.
• Fulfills safe housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a safe work environment.
• Complies with SQF / BRC / HACCP requirements as outlined in the company’s Food Safety & Quality Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Legible handwriting and ability to print simple sentences.
• Understanding and following verbal instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Common sense to apply to standardized problem-solving situations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stands, walks, uses hands to manipulate objects, prints, talks, and reaches.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 12 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, humidity, heights, fumes, toxic substances, skin irritants, outdoor weather conditions, high heat, static shocks, and loud noises.
• Works with others, but may occasionally work alone.
