Machine Operator

About the Role

The Machine Operator I, under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, performs various production tasks essential to tile manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Westlake procedures, including regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
• Water Treatment: Treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids, check pH before discharging to the city, follow SOP, and maintain a daily log of all discharges with supervisor approval.
• Sorter: Inspect tile on the dry side and manage the sealer area, including cleaning the sealer booth.
• Strapping Machine: Operate the strapping machine to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln Exit Operator: Conduct quality checks of tile and package the tile.
• Clean equipment and work areas daily; notify supervisor or lead of any identified problems.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills (e.g., ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions.
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience.
• 6 months of forklift driving experience (desired).

Physical Requirements

• Complete repetitive movements, such as typing or manual tasks.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Efficiently multitask.
• Lift, move, or transport items up to 50 pounds.
• Move or traverse about the facilities.
