Machine Operator

About the role

Triad Metals International is looking to hire a Machine Operator to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Load raw materials onto the CNC machine
• Input the product design into the computer modeling software
• Choose and load the correct cutting tools for the job
• Adjust machine settings to the desired product specifications
• Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
• Complete quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product
• Clean and maintain the machine
• Train new staff on machine operation procedures
• Program CNC machines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
• 1 or more years of CNC machine experience working on CNC type machines is preferred
• Proficient at CNC set-up and operation of CNC
• Extensive knowledge of gauges and measuring instruments
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
• Ability to articulate in all forms of communication and excellent critical thinking skills
• Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and lift 50 lbs. for up to 10 hours per day, when necessary

Physical demands

• Perform a wide range of physical activities, from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50 lbs or less), to sitting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling with repetitive hand and finger movements
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
• Ability to spend 80%-90% of time on your feet
