About the Role

Sunrider Manufacturing in Midlothian, Texas is seeking a Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will tend to various food production machines under the supervision of an experienced operator.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines under the supervision of an experienced operator.
  • Perform basic assembly and disassembly of machines.
  • Clean and sanitize machine parts according to GMP guidelines.
  • Read specifications to determine material requirements and proper machine setup.
  • Monitor machine operation to detect product defects, malfunctions, or the need for adjustments.
  • Perform minor adjustments to ensure the machine runs effectively.
  • Ensure proper product filling and quality.
  • Feed product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unload wrapped product.
  • Complete required daily production reports.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Follow GMPs and safety rules as outlined by company policy.
  • Assist with yearly inventory as needed.
  • May be requested to work in other production departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
