Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust production line equipment in accordance with established standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and report any problems
  • Conduct quality checks on containers to ensure proper specifications are maintained
  • Document problems or adjustments made to assigned machinery
  • Check and maintain defined levels of all raw materials used in production
  • Keep assigned machines and work area clean and free of debris
  • Adhere to all required safety protocols and wear PPE properly
  • Follow plant-specified job specifications and task lists
  • Work assigned shifts, including overtime and after-hours meetings as needed
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards
  • Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly
  • Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after job completion
  • Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety to supervision

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–2 years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Experience in plastics or packaging industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems

Physical demands

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear
  • Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, bend, or twist
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move materials

Work environment

The work environment is typical of most manufacturing settings, with moderate to high noise levels requiring ear protection.
